Since Maggie was born I haven't had a lot of time for reading. I did get through a handful of books, which included some GREAT ones. My top pick of 2010 is Moloka'i. I have fond memories of reading this book when Maggie was weeks old and I was up numerous times a night to nurse her, back when it took like an hour for her to nurse. Suddenly I didn't mind waking up in the middle of the night to nurse if I had a good book to read. My mom recommended this book and let me borrow her copy. It is a fictional book based on true events. It takes place in Hawaii in the late 1800's. A little girl named Rachel is discovered to have leprosy and is sent to Moloka'i, a Hawaiian island, to recieve medical help where the government sent everyone with leprosy to isolate the disease. It is a wonderful book that I almost passed over ( I do judge a book by it's cover). I highly recommend this book to everyone!
My book when nursing Jamie was The Red Tent! I remember looking down at her passed out... and my bare boob just out there and I just kept on reading... (didn't want to wake the baby and have to put the book down! ha)
