Signs of Spring

This weekend temperatures reached almost 50 degrees!! Is this some evil trick that Mother Nature is playing on us? Who cares! My little family and I spent Sunday working in our yard. We noticed little Snowdrops emerging from the cold ground. One of our friends gave us some plants from her yard last year and they already took to their new home. Hardy little flowers, even beating out the old Crocuses to claim first to bloom.
Maggie loved to explore the yard. She played in leaf piles, climbed up dirt hills, took wheelbarrow rides and tasted a variety of rocks.
While I know it is still February and we could still wake up to a white blanket of snow, I hope that we have many more sunny days to play outside! My body needs some serious Vitamin D, Cory needs some serious car tinkering time and Maggie seriously needs to explore more of the outside world on her own two feet.
What kinds of plants are emerging at your house?

  3. I'm jealous you have absolute signs of spring. I have to make do with indirect signs, like chicks at Big R, people driving with trucks full of home renovation materials, my growing aversion to wearing my winter coat. Elk Mama
